When making the strawberry moon skirt I thought of being a woman a water carrier so that’s why I chose blue for the skirt and I added in the colours of ribbon to representing the beginning stages of the strawberry Green then white with the blooming of the flower and then red to the strawberry itself. In my teaching pass down to me from elders the June full moon represents the creation story so being able to create the skirt I thought about women and creation and how beautiful in powerful it is to be Ojibwe Kwe.
